Emma is a mental performance coach helping athletes—primarily ski racers—build confidence, manage nerves, and develop the mindset skills they need to perform under pressure. But her work goes far beyond race-day strategies.
As a recently retired athlete herself, Emma has lived the very experiences her clients are navigating. She knows what it's like to doubt yourself, to feel the weight of expectations, and to wonder if you're capable of more. Today, she helps athletes break through those mental barriers so they can succeed not only in sport, but long after they leave it behind.
As she prepared for her new website launch, Emma needed photographs that reflected both sides of who she is: the knowledgeable coach and the athlete who has been there herself.

When we began planning, one thing became clear: Emma's greatest strength is her relatability.
The Confident Coach
This portion of the session highlighted Emma as the calm, supportive mentor who helps athletes master their mindset. We incorporated her laptop, notebook, worksheets, and thoughtful details that represented the work happening behind the scenes.
The Athlete Within
This storyline focused on her personal connection to ski racing. We incorporated her skis, helmet, boots, and equipment to visually communicate something important:
She understands her clients because she has been exactly where they are.
By creating both storylines, we were able to build a library of images that could support her website, social media, speaking opportunities, and future growth.
Rather than creating one collection of generic brand photos, we built the session around two distinct storylines.
THE PROCESS
One of my favorite parts of this session was incorporating Emma's ski equipment into the imagery. The skis, helmet, boots, and racing gear weren't simply props. They were symbols of her story.
They represented years of dedication, lessons learned through sport, and the experiences that now allow her to guide young athletes through some of their most challenging moments.
Throughout the session, we balanced professional portraits with playful, personality-driven images that felt true to who Emma is - warm, encouraging, and deeply invested in helping others believe in themselves.
The final gallery feels like her. Not just as a business owner, but as a person.

THE PLAN
When we first connected, Emma was simply looking for clean, professional photographs for her website. By the end of the session, she walked away with something even more valuable: a collection of images that told her story and gave her confidence in how she shows up online. Even better, we captured more content than either of us originally planned because the session felt organized, collaborative, and fun from beginning to end.
